John R. Jarboe was a San Francisco attorney who had a house built on "Blackburn Hill" in 1890. His wife and daughter were both writers. Named "Concha del Mar", a photo of the house was published in 1896, in Santa Cruz County: A faithful reproduction in print and photography of its climate, capabilities and beauties . . .. The photo was reused in the 3rd edition of The Sidewalk Companion to Santa Cruz Architecture, but not used in the 4th edition.
