Israel Chapin "I. C." Willson (1827-1869) came early to Santa Cruz County from Canandaigua, NY, and was a partner of John Burns in early vineyard operations in the area now called Bonny Doon. Several presumed relatives are also buried at Evergreen Cemetery. Also from the small town of Canandaigua were Thomas Bull and his sister Eliza, so they were all presumably acquaintances before emigrating west. In 1866, Willson owned a residence in Santa Cruz.
