Charles Ivan Kaye (1838-1914), born in England, was a Santa Cruz designer-builder from the 1870s into the early 1900s. Kaye worked alone and with a number of different partners, including Edward Van Cleek. According to Chase, Kaye drew plans for the 1877 Santa Cruz Hotel building on Cedar Street, which remains in 2023.
