Gusbert Bogart Vroom DeLamater, known informally as "Initials" or "Alphabet", came to California in 1850, and to Santa Cruz in 1868. He became a Pacific Avenue retailer and Ocean View Avenue resident, and was a Santa Cruz mayor in 1871-72.
