San Lorenzo Park was built in the early 1960s, part of the eponymous San Lorenzo Park Project (SLPP), adjacent to the Santa Cruz County Governmental Center, which was built as part of the same project. A pedestrian bridge crosses the San Lorenzo River at the park, a mid-loop connection of the two sides of Riverwalk park.
