The San Lorenzo Valley is a watershed formed by the San Lorenzo River and its tributaries, upstream from the city of Santa Cruz, containing a number of unincorporated communities: Felton, Zayante, Ben Lomond, Brookdale, Boulder Creek, and others. Paralleling the river for most of its length, Highway 9 is the valley's main road.
