Italian Gardens was the local name for a Santa Cruz neighborhood along the eastern bank of the San Lorenzo River, accessed by an extension to the north of Ocean Street. As indicated by the name, the area was home to many Italian immigrants who engaged in Agriculture, including produce and wine grapes.
