'''Joaquin Buelna''' was an early Californio resident of ''Villa de Branciforte'', who served as ''Comisionado'' (military liaison) and ''Juez de Paz'' (Justice of the Peace). He was the original grantee of Rancho Zayante, but never claimed it.
